App based food delivery company accused of wage theft in NYC

Restaurant food and packaged foods are often high in salt to make them more palatable. The FDA wants to see the food industry gradually reduce sodium levels in these foods.

New York City is suing a delivery app company called Motoclick for wage theft.

Motoclick is a company that connects restaurants with delivery workers. The city alleges the company ignored minimum pay laws by stealing millions of dollars from its' workers' paychecks. It allegedly charged the delivery workers 10 dollars for cancelled orders. Julie Sue is the

"It is a warning for every app based company from this administration. You cannot treat workers like they are expendable and get away with it."

Mayor Mamdani's administration has sent letters to 60 app based companies warning them to comply with worker protection laws.
