Flu cases are surging across New York State and even set a new record.
The state department of health reported more than 71-thousand flu cases for a seven day period ending December 20th. That is a 38 percent increase from the prior week and the most cases ever in a one week period since flu data tracking started back in 2004. State Health Commissioner James McDonald urges New Yorkers to get vaccinated, wash hands for at least 20 seconds and avoid close contact with sick people as steps to help prevent the spread.
