Crime is down once again on the New York City subway system.
NYPD Deputy Chief of Transit Keith Shine says in November, the six major crime categories on the subway went down 24 percent compared to the November of last year. That includes Grand Larcenies which make up most of subway crimes.
"The Transit bureau has officers specifically dedicated to combatting these types of thefts and nowhere is this more is this evident than in our subways in and around holiday hotspots with tourists and New Yorkers."
Shine also is reporting that the subway crime dropped five and a half percent over the past 11 months compared to the same period last year.
