In this April 21, 2021 file photo, a delivery man bikes with a food bag from Grubhub in New York. The three biggest food delivery companies, DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats, sued the City of New York in 2021 over its law to permanently limit the amount they can charge restaurants that use their services.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is extending a deadline for DoorDash workers to file a claim to get money from a settlement from the company.

James says workers and former employees have until the end of the month to file restitution claims. James secured more than 16 million dollars for DoorDash delivery workers following an investigation that alleges DoorDash misled customers and delivery workers by using tips intended for delivery workers to subsidize their guaranteed pay. This was between May of 2017 and September of 2019. James is urging employees who have received a settlement notice to submit a claim online.
