Starbucks will be paying its New York workers following a settlement involving allegations the company violated New York labor laws.
City officials say Starbucks will pay 35-million dollars to 15 thousand workers but admits no wrongdoing after allegations it cut worker hours and denied them steady schedules. The news comes the same day Mayor Elect Zohran Mamdani joined striking Starbucks workers in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
"We must build a New York where every worker can live a life of decency. We must build a New York where our words do not ring hallow as we say this is a union town."
Starbucks workers are on strike in some locations, demanding better pay, schedules and benefits.
