Essex County Sheriff Amir Jones is determined to find those responsible for the killing of 10-year-old Jordan Garcia and 21-year-old Kiyah Mae Scott.
"It is an attack on everything this county and city stands for. Their families are living through hell, and they deserve justice without delay and they will get it."
Three others were shot as well including Garcia's 11-year-old brother. All are recovering from bullet wounds. They were among a group gathered on Chancellor Avenue in the South Ward Saturday evening. Mayor Baraka.
"Violence is reduced in the city but these incidents make clear there is a lot more work to be done. There are too many guns in the street. Folks have too much access to guns."
Authorities are offering a 10-thousand dollar reward for information leading to a suspect. Authorities would not reveal what led up to the shooting or who was being targeted.
