There's new ferry routes being announced for New York City
The city Economic Development Corporation says starting on December 8th, NYC ferry will provide direct rides between Staten Island and Brooklyn. That gives residents in those two boroughs an alternative to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. There will be also be a new ferry route from the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx to the Rockaways. That will be a two hour ride. Meanwhile, there's also tweaks being made to the East River route that officials say will shorten commute times and improve efficiency.
