Zohran Mamdani is starting to fill key staff positions as the mayor elect gets ready to lead New York City in January.

Mamdani named Dean Fuleihan as his first deputy mayor. He has decades of government experience and was with the de Blasio Administration. Mamdani also named Elle Bisgaard-Church as his Chief of Staff.

"These will be two key partners in delivering on the work that we have been looking to do for far too long."

After making the appointments, Mamdani was asked about how he will handle possible resistance in Albany on his affordability agenda.

"What we will find in Albany is a politics of partnership that we have not seen for quite some time."

Governor Hochul last weekend indicated she's not on board with Mamdani's free bus plan but says she can find a path to make buses more affordable.
