A Rutgers fraternity has been shutdown following a hazing incident that left a student in critical condition.

The fraternity Alpha Sigma Phi has been under investigation after police responded a 9-1-1 call on October 15th to the frat house on College Ave. A spokesperson for the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office tells the Patch a 19-year-old student was electrocuted in an incident in the basement involving wires and water. That student continues to recover in the hospital. The parent organization of the Alpha Sigma Phi permanently shut the Rutgers frat chapter after saying what happened there was directly related to hazing. No one has been charged yet.
