Two people are taken into custody by ICE agents at a Koch Foods Inc. plant in Morton, Miss., one of seven food processing plants targeted for coordinated raids in the state.

New York officials are reacting to the ICE raids on Canal Street in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday that targeted illegal street vendors.

Officials say at least nine people were arrested when ICE agents clashed with the public in Chinatown Tuesday. It happened in an area known for counterfeit items. Congressman Dan Goldman says the purpose was not to take criminals off the street and deport them.

"This is a militarized effort to incite tension, passion and inflame the communities in New York City and elsewhere."

Zohran Mamdani. the front runner in the mayor's race condemned the actions by ICE calling them aggressive and reckless. On Wednesday, a day after the raid, street vendors for the most part could not be seen.
