A study by a New York City councilmember shows there's a lot of people getting away with illegally parking their vehicles in downtown Brooklyn.

Councilman Lincoln Restler had his staffers observe 60 blocks in downtown Brooklyn from May 26th to June 20th and found hundreds of illegal parked vehicles daily. His report shows only three percent were ticketed. Many had government placards. Restler is backing legislation to revoke tens of thousands of parking placards. An NYPD spokesperson responded telling the New York Post that the department has “aggressively” addressed illegal parking in the precinct.
