New York Governor Kathy Hochul is announcing a new challenge to get children off screens and experience the outdoors.
What's called the “Get Offline, Get Outside Challenge” is for those 12 to 18 years old. They are to complete 50 outdoor activities before they turn 19 and then they will be eligible for a certificate and prizes. The challenges include setting up a tent, roasting marshmallows over a fire, learning how to fish and growing something from a seed. More information on the challenge can be found on the Department of Environmental Conservation website. Folks can fill out an online form to receive their prizes.
