Thousands of New Yorkers have signed up for a new free community college program for adults in New York State that starts this fall.
The CUNY and SUNY Reconnect program is for qualifying adults ages 25 to 55 seeking degrees for certain high in demand occupations. 16-thousand 500 people have signed up so far and will be getting free tuition in what state officials say is a win for them and businesses in need of workers. The eligible high in demand fields include nursing, technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy and cyber security.
