The city launched the Liberty Link pilot program that will deliver high quality internet to 22-hundred households. These are section eight housing and other affordable housing units in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan. Ahmed Tigani is with the Department of Housing and Preservation and Development.
"We heard from tenants in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx and the message was clear. Many were struggling with spotty service, rising costs or no reliable access at all and we knew we had to act.
The Liberty Link pilot will run for three years and test different technologies to find the most effective approaches for a citywide expansion.
