DOT Crews are starting to form the Bronx Harlem River Greenway.
Construction got underway Wednesday for four miles of bike lanes and new Pedestrian spaces. Jessenia Aponte with the city's Parks department says the new greenway will better connect Bronx residents with the waterfront.
"By expanding our network of greenways here in the Bronx and throughout the city we are ensuring New Yorkers is all zip codes and from all backgrounds can enjoy the benefits of our greenspaces."
The bike lanes along with several other key projects will make up a seven mile greenway stretching from Van Cortlandt Park to Randall’s Island Park.
