A federal judge is ruling that Manhattan congestion pricing can carry on for now while the battle in court plays out over the Trump Administration trying to end the program.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has repeatedly threatened to withhold federal funding to the MTA if the congestion pricing cameras are not turned off. However, A judge on Tuesday ruled Duffy can not do that. The judge is allowing the nine dollar congestion toll to proceed until a ruling is made. The Trump administration previously took back the Biden Administration's approval of the congestion tolling program and that prompted the MTA to sue to keep it going. Governor Hochul says New Yorkers deserve to control our own traffic patterns.
