checks will be coming to New Yorkers as part of the recently signed state budget this fall.
More than 8 million New York Households will be getting inflation rebate checks which are up to 400 dollars. They are coming in the mail in October and November. Rachael says this is much needed for her family of four which has been struggling to keep up with rising costs of essentials.
"In the past couple of years, it's felt more and more like I am on this treadmill that keeps getting faster and it doesn't matter how hard I work, how much I save, how discipline we are."
Governor Hochul says because of inflation, New York collected more in state sales taxes than anticipated and therefore she feels that money should back to New Yorkers.
