There's a plan in the works to cut down on the number of daily flights at Newark Airport as massive flight disruptions continue there this week.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will be meeting with officials from all the major airlines that operate out of Newark later in the week. He wants to formulate a plan to cut down on the number of flights out of Newark.
"We have slowed down the flights at Newark until we can stand this system up and be assured that we have enough controllers in a system that is actually working."
It's been pretty much day after day of dozens of flight cancellations and a high number of delays at Newark because of an air traffic controller shortage and old Telecommunication line problems. Duffy says some software repairs are being made.
