New York city is expanding two school programs.
The NYC Reads and the NYC Solves programs will be available at 186 additional schools across 14 districts starting next school year. Schools Chancellor Melissa Ramos says these are what officials describe as high-quality foundational reading and math programs.
"It is our responsibility to build strong readers and mathematicians at every age and we are going to continue providing unprecedented levels of teacher and school support to get there."
NYC Reads is already in the lower grades but the expansion will mean it will be for the first time reaching middle schoolers.
