A Manhattan judge is ordering that federal corruption charges be dropped permanently against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Mayor Adams once again proclaimed he never did anything wrong and thanked his legal team for its efforts defending him.
"I also want to apologize to New Yorkers for having to go through this with me, a baseless case that should have never been brought."
The judge didn't give his opinion on the merits of the case in his explanation for honoring the Justice Department's request to drop the federal bribery charges charges. The Justice Department had called the case politically motivated. The mayor now turns his full attention to a re-election bid with a primary in June.
