Columbia University is searching for a new president with the current one stepping down days after the university agreed to follow Trump Administration demands.
The Trump Administration restored four hundred million federal dollars to Columbia After it agreed to a series of demands including re-writing protest policies and its Middle Eastern studies programs. That drew strong backlash from faculty and others. Late on Friday, Interim President Katrina Amrstrong stepped down. On Saturday, there were protests by students over the schools cooperation with the Trump Administration including some who tore up their diplomas on what was alumni day on campus. Columbia has been in the national spotlight for months because of pro Palestinian protests.
