Big changes are coming for the scores of people who use central parks roadways.
Officials say the six mile stretch that is full of pedestrians and cyclists is getting a brand new look. Starting this week, crews will be creating wider lanes, more separation between lanes, and new signal and crossing signage. Pedestrians will be kept to the inside, cyclists in the middle and faster e-bikes and other similar fast devices toward the outside of the loop. Officials hope this will reduce the number of collisions and injuries in the park.
