Police in New York City continue to seize a high number of illegal guns but do have one concern.
Police have already removed more than one- thousand illegal firearms off the streets since the start of the year. However, Police Commissioner Jessica Tishe is concerned about a disturbing new trend.
"We are seeing rapid fire modification devices coming in with some of the guns that we are recovering. Attachments that turn handguns into high capacity weapons cable of firing at an alarming rate."
She says 82 have come into the police lab since they started tracking the gun accessories a year and a half ago. Meanwhile, the commissioner is reminding New Yorkers that January and February combined had the fewest shootings for the first two months of the year in recorded history.
