Crime drops again in NYC

Crime in New York City continues to drop.

New crime stats reveal overall crime in the city was down 15 percent in February compared to February of last year. Shootings decreased as well in February to a new 30 year low. Crime has now dropped by double digits for three strait months. In the subway system, murders, robbery and grand larceny fell by 15 percent as well in February . Police Commissioner Jessica Tische credits what she calls zone based policing where officers focus on crime hot spots as the reason for the decrease.
