A new community health center is coming to the Rockaway Peninsula.
Queens Borough President Donovan Richards and other elected officials were on hand Tuesday to break ground on a 22-thousand square foot Gotham Health community center. It will provide services to Far Rockaway, Queens.
"For years our Rockaway residents have been demanding better access to high quality healthcare. For years, families here have dealt with higher rates of disease."
The center will expand coverage for primary care, specialty care, women’s health, mental health services and much more. The new community health center is located on Village Lane in Far Rockaway and is expected to open in 2027.
