Members of Mayor Adams' administraiton are marking a milestone when it comes to removing guns off New York City streets.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tische says the NYPD has now taken more 20-thousand illegal guns off the streets since the start of the Adams administration three years ago. That's three thousand more guns than the previous three year period.
"20-thousand guns seized is a great achievement but it represents a lot more. It's about lives saved and families sparaed from the tragedy of gun violence."
The department also confiscated 14-hundred ghost guns. Gun arrests were up eight percent in the last three years compared to 2019 through 2021.
