There's big athletic programming changes coming later this year at Montclair State University and Bloomfield College.
Montclair is taking its men's and women's lacrosse teams out of Division Three and making them club teams. At the same time the University is starting a women's flag football Division Three team. It also is including the incorporation of Bloomfield College to its athletics and recreation program. Bloomfield is shifting its Division II baseball and women’s volleyball teams to club sports. Montclair officials say the newly merged Athletic and Recreation Department will aim to foster a campus-wide healthy lifestyle by providing comprehensive tools, programs, and activities throughout the year.
