Manhattan Criminal Court is seen in New York on Friday.

The former chief advisor for New York City Mayor Eric Adams is now facing federal bribery charges.

Ingrid Lewis-Martin abruptly resigned earlier in the week and on Thursday she pleaded not guilty to charges accusing her and her son of accepting 100-thousand dollars in bribes in exchange for using her position of power to speed up approvals for bar and hotel construction projects. Lewis Martin denies wrong doing.

"I have never taken any gifts, money anything."

Two hotel operators also face charges along with Lewis Martin's son. Lewis Martin is the latest of several high ranking aides to Mayor Eric Adams to resign. The mayor himself is battling corruption charges.
