One New Jersey lawmaker says it's time to take action against unidentified drones that continue to fly over New Jersey.

New Jersey Congressman Josh Gottheimer is one of a number of local elected officials demanding more information from the FBI and FAA about the huge surge of drone activity in recent weeks.

"I am also urging federal law enforcement agencies which are led by the FBI and DHS to allow state and local law to deploy assets to safely take down drones that should not be in the air right now."

Drones have now been spotted over several areas of New York City including LaGuardia Airport. Over the weekend sightings forced a brief closures of runways at Stewart Airport.
