A ten thousand dollar reward is being offered for information leading to the person who shot and killed a healthcare company CEO in Manhattan on Wednesday.
Authorities say the suspect was waiting outside the Hilton Hotel on 6th Avenue early Wednesday morning and then walked up to Brian Thompson as he arrived and shot him several times, killing him. Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare had flown in from Minnesota for a conference. NYPD Chief Joe Kenny says it doesn't appear to be a random shooting.
"The motive for this murder currently is unknown but based on the evidence we have so far, it does appear the victim was specifically targeted."
Thompson's wife tells NBC her husband had been receiving threats prior to the shooting.
