New York City is expanding its program that connects high school students to career opportunities.

What's called the Future Ready NYC Mentorship Career Program is now going to reach some 15-thousand high school students because it's rolling out in 36 more schools in the city. Schools Chancellor Melissa Ramos says the program offers coursework and paid work to put students on a pathway to good-paying careers.

"Future Ready really provides our students an opportunity to learn all these different skills to align with their interests."

There's also two new career sector pathways being introduced, They are called heating ventilation, air-conditioning and decarbonization and human and social services.
