Congressman Josh Gottheimer is running for Governor of New Jersey.
Gottheimer made the announcement Friday in front of a packed crowd at the Runway Diner in South Hackensack.
"I am running for governor to cut your taxes and to make Jersey more affordable again."
Gottheimer says he'd work to expand the state's child tax credit and keep fighting New York's congestion pricing plan. Hey joins a crowded field of candidates looking for the Democratic nomination. The others include Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, former state Senate President Steve Sweeney, and teacher's union head Sean Spiller.
