Mayor Adams Administration is reassuring New York City migrants they won't be deported now that Donald Trump has been elected President.
Head of the City's office of immigrant Affairs Manual Castro says New York remains a sanctuary city and is urging migrants not to panic after Trump warned on the campaign trail he would carry out a mass deportation of migrants.
"They do not need to self deport . They do not need to hide, go in the shadows and that they continue to use our city services."
Mayor Eric Adams says he wants to work with Trump on developing a realistic national strategy for immigration. He says he'll continue to call for faster work authorization for migrants.
