The FBI is investigating top aides to New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

On Thursday, the FBI raided the home of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks the Third. They also raided the home of Police Commissioner Edward Caban and seized numerous cell phones within the NYPD.

The chief lawyer for the Adams Administration Lisa Zornberg released a statement saying in part , "investigators have not indicated to us the mayor or his staff are targets of any investigation and that the mayor has made clear that all members of the team need to follow the law." The homes of three other aides in the administration were searched over recent months. The FBI has been investigating the mayor's campaign fundraising and possible connections to foreign donors. No one was been accused of a crime so far.
