Columbia University is cancelling its big commencement ceremony following unrest on campus tied to pro Palestinian protests.

The university wide graduation ceremony scheduled for May 15th is no longer happening. Columbia released a statement saying in part,

"Based on input and feedback from student leaders, the University has decided to focus attention on Class Days and school-level ceremonies, where students are honored individually"

Columbia has asked police to remain on campus through May 17th after last week's mass arrests and takeover of Hamilton Hall. There's been protests and arrests at NYU as well. However, NYU is moving forward with its big May 15th Yankee Stadium graduation ceremony.
