Houses in Newark damaged by quake


There was some damage to houses in Newark from the earthquake.

Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said three houses on 7th Avenue had structural damage. Firefighters had responded to a call.

Reports said they were partially toppled. The residents have been relocated.

Frage said all city buildings, including City Hall and Recreation Centers, are closed but police and fire are not affected. He said building inspections continue as of Friday afternoon.
