There's a report New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez is considering running for re-election as an independent.

Sources tell NBC News that the longtime democratic senator is talking to his allies about his career and is getting ready to collect petitions to run in November as an independent. Menendez who faces numerous federal bribery related charges has other Democrats and Republicans running for his senate seat. He has poor poll numbers recently but rejected calls to resign and has been quiet about his plans for when his term is up in January.
