Buffalo Bills' Damar Hamlin is examined during the first half of an NFL football game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday in Cincinnati.

There's a new law in New York State that mandates safety measures be in place at children's sporting events.

Governor Kathy Hochul signed the Youth Sports Safety Bill on Friday which requires an automated external defibrillator at every game, practice or camp for programs with five or more teams. There also has to be at least one person in attendance who is trained to use the AED. Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin applauds the bill, saying it's an important step to saving lives.

"My journey has shown us that no one expects cardiac arrest to happen - and we all need to be prepared."

Hamlin has made a full recovery after going into cardiac arrest during a game last season.
