NYC launches campaign against subway surfing

MTA
Scott Pringle

The MTA and New York City are launching a campaign alerting folks of the dangers of subway surfing.

NYPD Transit Chief Michael Kemper says subway surfing has been on the rise. There's been 450 documented instances where people are riding the top of a moving train between January and June of this year. There's been five young people killed this year.

"There are no do overs if a mistake occurs. Consider it game over. The end."

The city and MTA now have a campaign to alert youngsters of the dangers of subway surfing. The campaign consists of posters in schools, in the subway stations, announcements and videos warning against it on social media.
