New York State is offering financial assistance to homeowners hit hard by flash flooding in the Hudson Valley.

Governor Kathy Hochul is making three million dollars available. Grants of up to 50-thousand dollars will be awarded to eligible homeowners for flood related critical home repairs. Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus.

"I have about a thousand houses or structures that have significant damage from water and people are living in right now. I have 20 that are red flagged which means they should be demoed."

There's also some without clean drinking water, gas and electric. Meanwhile, the governor is hoping FEMA will declare a major disaster declaration for what she calls a one thousand-year flooding event.
