Fleet Week is underway in New York City with around 24-hundred Marines, Navy and Coast Guard members in town to interact with the public.
Fleet Week is an opportunity for the public to learn more about jobs of those serving at sea and to say thank you for their service. Marine Mallory Vanderschans says folks can take ship tours and take part in numerous other activities leading up to Memorial Day.
"You will see our own military men and women along with members of our international allies partnering in parades, military band performances and aviation demonstrations."
Around 24 hundred uniformed service members are in New York taking part in Fleet Week. The USS Wasp is the featured ship. Flee Week concludes with a Memorial Day Ceremony on board the Intrepid.
