A United Airlines airplane takes off over another plane on the runway at San Francisco International Airport in San Francisco on Oct. 15, 2020. United announced a new order of 270 narrow-bodied planes from Boeing and Airbus.

Ground is being broken today on a new Terminal Six at JFK Airport in Queens.

Terminal Six is about a four billion dollar privately funded project that will have restaurants, art work, recreation areas and 10 gates. Queens Borough President Donavan Richards says the development of Terminal Six brings the airport into a 21st century facility.

"As we complete this terminal, we will be able to once again compete globally. There will be no one even close to competing with our borough and this airport."

The terminal will replace the old Terminal 6 and the aging Terminal 7. The project will create four thousand jobs. It will take years to complete.
