There’s big changes being proposed for MTA bus routes in all of Brooklyn.
An MTA bus redesign proposal for Brooklyn is expected increase frequency of buses on 24 routes, increase the number of overnight routes and add connections to the LIRR. It’s also expected to increase bus speeds. Danny Pearlstein with the Riders Alliance applauds the MTA’s plan for Brooklyn but is urging Mayor Adams to add more busways and bus lanes.
“We have the slowest bus lanes in the nation and unfortunately the new administration has gotten off to a very slow start in bus lane installation.”
There’s a series of public hearings on the bus redesign in the coming months. The plan will not be implemented for at least a year.
