There are now stricter gun laws in New York state. Governor Hochul Monday signed a package of bills following numerous mass shootings nationwide.
One of the 10 new laws raises the minimum age someone can by a semi-automatic from 18 to 21 years old. Another restricts body armor sale and a third requires certain technology in guns so investigators can trace the bullets.
“Too many families have been destroyed, shattered because of targeted gun violence but also the random gun violence that occurs on our streets.”
The governor signed the bills after recent deadly mass shootings including one in Buffalo where an 18 year old wearing body armor killed 10 people at a supermarket. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
“We are still grieving and we are still in pain.”
