NYC Raises COVID Alert Level To High

coronavirus
CDC

New York City has gone from a medium to high coronavirus alert level. The high alert means the city is recommending New Yorkers wear face masks in all indoor public settings like grocery stores and offices and at crowded outdoor settings. City Health officials are also urging folks to upgrade to high quality masks. Those at higher risk are urged to avoid crowded settings. The high alert level means pressure on the health care system is increasing and there is high coronavirus community spread. The city’ health commissioner says he does not think the current wave will last long if New Yorkers follow health protocols. Mayor Adams has shown no indication he’ll bring back coronavirus restrictions at the moment.
