There’s new legislation in New York State that would provide financial resources to abortion providers with the strong possibility of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
Assemblywoman Jessica Gonzalez Rojas predicts tens of thousands of out out of state residents will turn to New York for abortion care should Roe v. Wade be overturned.
“We have to be ready and willing and able to welcome everybody with compassion, with dignity and with quality abortion care.”
The bill she is sponsoring would create the Reproductive Freedom and Equity Program. It would fund providers and non profits that help with reproduction care. The money will help low income folks and those without insurance.
