NY Tightens Sanctions On Russia, Gets Medical Supplies To Ukraine

Darren McGee/Darren McGee- Office of Governor

New York State is helping get medical supplies to Ukraine while trying to further distance itself from Russia.

The state is partnering with the medical non profit Afya Foundation to send 100-thousand pounds of medical supplies to Ukraine as the country tries to fend off an invasion from Russia. Kenneth Raske is the President of the Greater New York Hospital Association.

“These boxes of medical supplies, in many cases life saving supplies are brought by the good will of the healthcare community saying you know we have gone through a lot but you know what it’s pretty bad over there.”

Meanwhile, Governor Kathy Hochul signed a new executive order banning state agencies from doing business with companies that still do business with Russia.
