New York City is expanding a healthy lifestyle program.

The city’s public hospital system is now offering a healthy and lifestyle program at sites across all five boroughs. Head of the system, Dr. Mitchell Katz says this will help patients with chronic diseases make healthier life style changes that include a plant-based diet and exercise.

“We have an American culture where people think Illness Dr. Pill. That isn’t always the best way.”

Mayor Eric Adams says his goal is to get more New Yorkers on a plant based died. He cites data that shows more than half of New York adults are overweight and many suffer from diabetes.
