New York City is making it easier to get a coronavirus booster shot. CDC guidance shows adults at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure qualify but the city’s Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi issued an advisory to all health care providers arguing New York City’s high density puts all of its residents at higher risk.
“What we are trying to clarify is that there should be no barriers to accessing a booster shot provided that someone is an adult, meaning 18 and older and at least six months out from Pfizer or Moderna dose or two months out from an JNJ dose."
Meanwhile, the daily number of coronavirus cases has increased over recent days in New York City. The number of hospitalizations still remains very low.
