NYC Marks Progress With Coronavirus

New York City officials are noting progress over recent moths in the battle against coronavirus. One of the city’s top Doctors Jay Varma says Coronavirus related hospitalizations are at the lowest level in the city since the pandemic started.

“In the past month, our hospitalization rate has dropped in half. And really the best explanation for that is the impact of vaccinations.”

There are now six million New Yorkers who have gotten at least one vaccine dose. About 85 percent of adults have at least one shot. However, health officials say it’s unknown how the virus will play out through the winter so Mayor de Blasio is pleading with more people to get the shot.

“COVID is not leaving us immediately. We got real work to do to finish this mission.”
